Christopher Atencio

Christopher Atencio currently serves as Corporate Counsel at PNM Resources since May 2023. Prior to this role, Christopher held positions at the New Mexico Environment Department, first as Deputy General Counsel from November 2022 to May 2023 and previously as Assistant General Counsel-Attorney Supervisor from June 2012 to May 2023, where responsibilities included managing paralegal staff and providing legal representation for various departmental divisions. Earlier experience includes serving as a Law Clerk at the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and Little & Dranttel PC, as well as holding the position of Political Director for the Republican Party of New Mexico. Christopher is a graduate of The University of New Mexico School of Law, earning a Doctor of Law (J.D.), and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Earth and Planetary Science from The University of New Mexico.
