Luis Silva

Luis Silva has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Luis is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer at Tyl by NatWest since March 2021. Prior to this, they were a Senior Data Engineer at Ubiquis Consulting from March 2016 to March 2021, where they specialized in Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics. Luis also served as a Consultant at HM Revenue & Customs from October 2016 to May 2019, where they led various big data projects related to data warehousing and data exchange.

Luis has academic experience as well. Luis worked as a Post-doc Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow from May 2013 to December 2015, conducting research on numerical modeling of multi-component driven dynamo action in planetary cores. Luis was responsible for developing and using high-performance Fortran and C codes, analyzing data, deriving simplified models, and publishing papers and presentations on the topic. Additionally, they worked as a Mathematics Tutor at the University of Glasgow from September 2013 to February 2014.

Luis also worked as a Visiting Researcher at UCLA from February 2014 to July 2014, focusing on numerical modeling of dynamo action and field transport in stars. Their educational journey continued with a Ph.D. in Geomagnetism from Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, which they obtained from 2005 to 2010.
