Cassandra Chapa has a diverse work experience within the education field. Cassandra is currently serving as the Chief Innovation Officer at Tyler ISD since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a School Principal at W. A. Peete Elementary from August 2019 to the present. Cassandra also served as the Principal at Ramey Elementary School from July 2017 to August 2019. As an ESL Secondary Instructional Specialist at ES, they worked from July 2016 to August 2019. Additionally, they were a Leadership Fellow at Dallas Independent School District from July 2015 to July 2016. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Teacher at Garland Independent School District from June 2013 to June 2015 and at Hays CISD from August 2008 to May 2013.

Cassandra Chapa obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Fine and Studio Arts with a minor in Chemistry from St. Edward's University in the years 2002-2008. Cassandra then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Southern Methodist University in the years 2014-2015. In addition, Cassandra holds a TEXES Principal K-12 certification from the State of Texas.
