Deana Sheppard

Deana Sheppard is the current Provost and Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs at Tyler Junior College. Deana has been in this role since October 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Instruction at Lone Star College-CyFair from November 2002 to October 2019. In this role, they provided leadership to six academic divisions, the Division of Academic Affairs, the joint-use Harris County and college library, and instruction at two comprehensive satellite centers. CyFair served over 22,000 students.

Before their time at Lone Star College-CyFair, Deana Sheppard was the Director of Employee Development at Brazosport College from August 1996 to December 2002. In this role, they were responsible for providing professional development to faculty, staff, and administrators at Brazosport College.

Deana Sheppard has a Doctor of Education from Sam Houston State University in Higher Education Leadership, a MS from the University of Houston in Occupational Technology, and a BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University in General Business and Education.

Deana Sheppard reports to Juan E. Mejia, President & CEO. They are on a team with Kevin Fowler - Executive Director, Regional Community Engagement, Sarah E. Van Cleef - VP, Financial & Administrative Affairs & CFO, and Kimberly G. Lessner - VP for Operations & COO.
