Anniina Lehtonen has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and sectors. Anniina started their career working as a Shop Salesperson in a service station store and later as a Shop Salesperson in a retail company. Anniina then worked as a Trainee in the Secretariat for International Relations at the Ministry of Education and Culture. Anniina also gained experience as a Trainee in the Political Section of the Embassy of Finland in Berlin.

Following that, they worked as an Executive Assistant at the office of the Minister for International Development in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, where they were responsible for various administrative tasks. Anniina later joined the Prime Minister's Office, where they served as an Administrative Assistant in the External Economic Relations Unit and later as a Communications Assistant in the Government Communications Department.

Anniina then transitioned to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, initially working as a Communications Specialist, focusing on sustainable growth, regional development, employment and unemployment matters, as well as public employment services. During the Finland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, they took on the role of a spokesperson and communications coordinator. Anniina also worked as a Communications Specialist at the KEHA-keskus, which provides development and administrative services for the ELY Centres and TE Employment and Economic Development Offices.

Currently, Anniina holds the position of Head of Web Communications at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, where they handle strategic communication through various online platforms.

Anniina Lehtonen's education history begins in 2001 when they graduated from Halikon lukio, an Upper Secondary School in Halikko, Finland, with a degree in General Education. Anniina then attended the University of Tampere from 2005 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science. During their undergraduate studies, in 2007 to 2008, they had the opportunity to be an Erasmus Student at Universität Trier in Trier, Germany, studying Political Science and German. Following their bachelor's degree, Anniina pursued further education at the University of Tampere, completing their Master of Social Sciences in Political Science from 2010 to 2012.
