Katri Niskanen has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2007 as a Senior Adviser at the Finnish Immigration Service. Katri then served as an Immigration Liaison Officer at the Embassy of Finland in Addis Ababa in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Senior Specialist at the Ministry of the Interior in Finland. Katri later joined the European Commission as a Policy Officer from 2015 to 2017. Following that, they returned to the Ministry of the Interior, where they held positions as Chief Specialist and Ministerial Adviser from 2017 to 2022. Currently, they are working as a Chief Specialist and Team Leader at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in Finland.

Katri Niskanen completed their education in a chronological order. From 2003 to 2007, they attended Turun yliopisto - University of Turku and obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in the field of Law. In 2005, they also participated in an Erasmus exchange program at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, where they further enhanced their knowledge of Law.
