Murilo M. de Almeida

Head of Microgrid and Critical Power Applications at Typhoon HIL, Inc.

Murilo M. de Almeida has a diverse work experience that spans from 2010 to the present.

Murilo began their career as an intern at Fundação RTVE in 2010.

In 2012, they worked as an Electrical Designer at Castelo Forte Projetos e Montagens, focusing on electrical design for residential and commercial buildings, as well as providing consultancy services for protection systems and electrical measurements.

From 2015 to 2016, Murilo worked as a Power Systems Engineer at Typhoon HIL, Inc., where they developed power system and electronics element models for their software, provided technical customer support, and held presentations on the company's products.

Murilo then returned to Castelo Forte Projetos e Montagens in 2016, taking on the role of Power Systems Engineer. Here, they developed a new power systems and electronics consultancy branch and provided international support for projects involving microgrids and distributed energy resources.

In 2017, Murilo joined Typhoon HIL Inc. again, this time as the Head of Microgrid Applications Group. Murilo was responsible for coordinating the development team for high fidelity models and controls for microgrids, as well as managing projects for microgrid testbed development.

In December 2018, Murilo was promoted to the role of Head of Microgrid and Critical Power Applications at Typhoon HIL Inc. In this role, they managed the HIL Microgrid Platform/Solution planning and execution, coordinated new technology development for government and university projects, and developed product plans and roadmaps for top-level management. Murilo also managed relationships with external third-parties to develop new sales channels and gather requirements for new software/toolboxes.

Murilo M. de Almeida completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Goiás in the years 2007 to 2011. Murilo then pursued a Master's degree in Power Systems from Northeastern University from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Management from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas from 2013 to 2016. In terms of certifications, they completed several courses in power electronics, including Capstone Design Project in Power Electronics, Power Electronics Specialization, Magnetics for Power Electronic Converters, Advanced Converter Control Techniques, Converter Control, Converter Circuits, and Introduction to Power Electronics. These certifications were obtained through Coursera Course Certificates between March and September of 2016.
