Myroslava Gongadze

Myroslava Gongadze is an experienced media and communications professional currently serving as an Advisor at Ukrainska Pravda since March 2024. As a co-founder of the Georgiy Gongadze Prize since May 2019, Gongadze has contributed significantly to efforts in promoting journalism and democracy. Serving as the Eastern Europe Chief for the United States Agency for Global Media since July 2004, Gongadze has held various roles in prominent organizations, including a scholar position at The Aspen Institute Kyiv and as a Nieman fellow at Harvard University. Previously, Gongadze worked as a DC Correspondent for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and held fellowships and teaching positions at institutions such as the National Endowment for Democracy and the International Republican Institute. Gongadze holds a Master of Laws from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and has been recognized as a Petrack scholar at The George Washington University.

The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) encompasses all U.S. civilian international broadcasting, including the Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB)—Radio and TV Martí, Radio Free Asia (RFA), the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN)—Radio Sawa and Alhurra Television, and the Open Technology Fund (OTF). USAGM broadcasters distribute programming in 63 languages to an estimated weekly audience of 410 million people via radio, TV, the internet and other new media. USAGM works to serve as an example of a free and professional press, reaching a worldwide audience with news, information, and relevant discussions.
