David Walton, MD MPH, currently serves as the U.S. Global Malaria Coordinator for the President's Malaria Initiative at USAID since August 2022. Walton has held the position of Associate Physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital since June 2003 and is also an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School since July 2007. Between July 2021 and July 2022, Walton acted as Senior Director of Global Health for Butterfly Network, Inc. Previous roles include Co-Founder and CEO of Build Health International, Director of Global Health at ThoughtWorks, Clinical Director during the Ebola response at Save the Children International, and Chief Operating Officer of Hospital Universitaire de Mirebalais with Partners In Health. Walton's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School, a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology and Spanish from Augustana College.
