Mark Carrato

Mark Carrato is an experienced leader in international development, currently serving as the Director for USAID/Brazil, where responsibilities include fostering partnerships for sustainable socio-economic development and biodiversity conservation. With an extensive background at USAID, Mark has held various key roles, including Coordinator for Power Africa and Director of the Office of Economic Growth, managing significant development portfolios and responding to humanitarian crises. Additional experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for B Lab East Africa and Neighbors' Consejo, as well as technical advisory roles at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Mark holds a Master of Science in National Security and Resource Management from the National Defense University, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from Pacific Lutheran University.
