Theresa Shaver

Theresa Shaver is a highly experienced maternal and reproductive health professional with over 30 years in international health program management. Currently serving as the Senior Maternal and Newborn Health Advisor at USAID since June 2017, Theresa also holds the position of Trustee for Girls Not Brides, a partnership focused on ending child marriage. Previously, Theresa worked as a Community Health Nurse with the Frederick County Government and as a consultant specializing in various aspects of health program implementation. As the President and Founder of the White Ribbon Alliance from 1999 to 2014, Theresa led efforts to advocate for maternal health and accountability from governments. Theresa earned a Master's Degree in Community Health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in 1991.
