Cheryl Waters

Cheryl Waters, Ph.D., serves as an Adjunct Professor at Purdue University Online, teaching undergraduate cybersecurity and IT courses, and has been with the institution since October 2007. Additionally, since 2018, Cheryl has held the position of Senior Data Protection Operations Engineer at U.S. Bank, focusing on network and cloud security. Cheryl has also been an Adjunct Professor at Walden University since March 2017, and previously worked as a Senior Information Security Analyst at Spectrum Health from February 2012 to December 2017, where responsibilities included maintaining Data Loss Prevention policies and ensuring compliance with regulations. Prior experience includes serving as a Windows Application Administrator for the State of Michigan and teaching various computer courses at Virginia College. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a Master’s Degree in Network Architecture, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Security, all obtained from Capella University.
