Michael Kuiken is a distinguished academic and policy expert currently serving as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at The Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and as an Expert Advisor for the Special Competitive Studies Project focusing on fusion energy. Kuiken is also a Commissioner with the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission and a Lifetime Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Prior experience includes a role as National Security Advisor to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and as a Professional Staff Member for the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services. Kuiken's foundational education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Political Science, and Public Administration from Calvin University, followed by a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.
