Safety & Security Operations, Deputy Chief at U.S. Coast Guard

Paul Civita is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in safety and security operations, currently serving as Deputy Chief at the U.S. Coast Guard since July 2019. In this role, Paul manages cybersecurity measures and oversees both facility and container inspections for $210 billion in cargo while supervising over 1,000 Port State Control exams to ensure compliance with U.S. regulations. Prior to this, Paul held positions at Penn State World Campus as a graduate student focusing on cybersecurity and information assurance, and spent seven years at the U.S. Coast Guard in various roles including Facility Branch Chief and marine inspector, where responsibilities included overseeing compliance at over 200 regulated facilities and conducting inspections on various vessel types. Paul earned a degree in Cybersecurity from Penn State University in 2019, following studies at Excelsior University and Nassau Community College.
