Eugene Smith

Eugene Smith has extensive work experience in the legal field. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Mildred M. Edwards at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, where they assisted with criminal and civil court proceedings. In 2000, they joined the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a Senior Trial Attorney, where they managed complex investigations and litigations related to violations of the Commodity Exchange Act. Eugene also served as a Director of the Office of Proceedings and as a Senior Counsel to Commissioner Kristin N. Johnson. In 2016, they briefly worked as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia at the United States Attorney's Office, investigating and prosecuting general crimes.

Eugene Smith attended The Maret School from 1987 to 1991. Eugene then went to Brown University from 1991 to 1995, but did not obtain a degree. Eugene continued their education at Boston College Law School from 1996 to 1999, where they earned a J.D. in law.
