Miriam Lord serves as the Associate Register of Copyrights and Director of Public Information and Education at the U.S. Copyright Office since May 2022. Prior to this role, Miriam Lord was the Director of the Global Intellectual Property Academy at the USPTO from March 2016 to May 2022, focusing on IP capacity building and training. Between February 2009 and February 2016, Miriam Lord led the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, providing legal assistance and educational programs for the creative economy and supporting under-resourced inventors through the Pennsylvania Patent Pro Bono Program. Experience also includes positions as an adjunct professor at Drexel University, an apprentice attorney at Stradley Ronon, and internships at the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Educational background includes a JD from Villanova University and a B.S. in Apparel Design and Production from Colorado State University.
