Cassius Spears Jr.

Cassius Spears Jr. has extensive experience in environmental conservation and management, currently serving as State Resource Conservationist, District Conservationist, and Soil Conservationist at the USDA since January 2011. Prior roles include Natural Resource Specialist at the Narragansett Indian Tribe and Educator II at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center. Cassius began a career focused on research as a Student Researcher at the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the University of Notre Dame, and worked as a Research Assistant at the US EPA. In the early stages of a career, Cassius served as a Park Ranger with RI DEM-Bureau of Environmental Protection. Cassius holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science & Management from the University of Rhode Island and further academic experience at the University of Notre Dame.
