Patricia Abad

Patricia Abad currently serves as the Deputy Director for the Western Hemisphere in the APHIS-PPQ Phytosanitary Issues Management unit at the USDA since July 2021. Prior roles include PPQ NAPPO Technical Director at USDA-APHIS from October 2015 to July 2021, and various positions within USDA focusing on international trade and phytosanitary issues, including acting as the Confidential Assistant to the Under Secretary of Marketing and Regulatory Programs. Patricia's early career featured consultancy at the Organization of American States and a research fellowship at the Inter-American Development Bank. Educational achievements include a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University, several certificates in international business and conflict resolution, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from North Carolina State University, and participation in the Senior Executive Fellows program at Harvard Kennedy School.
