Haniyeh Mahmoudian

Haniyeh Mahmoudian, Ph.D., currently serves as an Advisor to the National AI Advisory Committee at the U.S. Department of Commerce since April 2022, contributing to recommendations on the landscape of artificial intelligence as mandated by the National AI Initiative Act of 2020. Prior to this, Haniyeh held the position of Global AI Ethicist at DataRobot from June 2019 to September 2024, focusing on developing a responsible AI framework and collaborating with product and engineering teams. Haniyeh's experience also includes roles as a Data Science Researcher and Customer Facing Data Scientist at DataRobot, a Senior Data Scientist at Oracle concentrating on fairness in machine learning, and as a Data Scientist at ACI Worldwide. Haniyeh’s academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Bonn and advanced degrees in Physics from Sharif University of Technology.
