Joshua Volz

Joshua Volz currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy, a position held since June 2020. Prior to this role, Joshua Volz spent nearly a decade at the U.S. Department of State, where responsibilities included Director for Europe and Eurasia, Eastern Mediterranean Team Lead, Senior International Energy Officer, and Economic Officer. Joshua Volz also contributed to the United States Department of Defense as the Deputy Team Lead for Iraq Reconstruction and Stabilization and Senior Advisor from 2004 to 2010. Before entering public service, Joshua Volz worked as a Ski Instructor and Backcountry Guide at Vail Resorts. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in National Security Strategy and Resourcing from the National Defense University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Philosophy from Kalamazoo College, supplemented by studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
