Jennifer Mathis serves as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice since December 2021. Prior to this role, Jennifer Mathis was the Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy at the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law from January 1999 to December 2021. Additional experience includes serving as Special Assistant to Commissioner Chai Feldblum at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, practicing as a Staff Attorney at the Maryland Disability Law Center and the Disabilities Law Project, and working as an Attorney at Henrichsen Siegel. Early in the career, Jennifer Mathis was a Law Clerk for Judge Frederick H. Weisberg.
