Eric Wester

Eric Wester currently serves as a Chaplain at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since September 2020 and has been semi-retired from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America since November 2011, focusing on graduate teaching, chaplaincy, and pastoral leadership. As the Director of Federal Chaplaincy Ministries, Eric oversees Lutheran pastors serving as military and federal chaplains. Eric contributes as an Adjunct Faculty and Project Director at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, planning seminars for future military ministry leaders. Previous roles include serving as a Stated Supply Pastor, Lead for Community Education and Training in the VA Community Clergy Training Program, and Senior Fellow at National Defense University. Educational credentials include a Master's in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and multiple theological degrees.
