The Social Science and Public Affairs team within the U.S. EPA Office of Inspector General conducts research and analysis on the social and behavioral dimensions of environmental policies and programs. This team evaluates the public's response to and engagement with environmental initiatives, advises on communications strategies, and assists in crafting reports and recommendations that enhance transparency and public understanding. By integrating social science insights, the team helps ensure that the EPA's actions are socially responsible and effectively communicated to stakeholders, including the general public and policymakers.
