Heather Benjamin has a diverse work experience, ranging from editorial and content marketing roles to theater and writing/editing positions. Heather'smost recent role was as the Associate Director of Editorial Content at the U.S. Green Building Council, where they worked from 2015 to the present. Before that, they held various content marketing positions at the same organization. Prior to their time at the U.S. Green Building Council, Heather worked as a freelancer, taking on roles as a writer/editor and actor/director. Heather also served as the Founding Artistic Director of the Perisphere Theater, a nonprofit theater company in the D.C. area. Heather has experience in the publishing industry as well, having worked as an associate editor and publications manager at the American Coatings Association and as an editor for the OnCue Newsletter at The Actors' Center. Additionally, they have held editorial roles at ASCD, Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, EEI Communications, and the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association.
Heather Benjamin holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications, including "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences," "Developing Credibility as a Leader," "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for All," and "The Three Pillars of Effective Leadership by Jeff Weiner" from LinkedIn. Heather also obtained a "LEED Green Associate" certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in September 2020.
