Jim Mishina has extensive work experience in the field of information and psychological operations. Jim started their career in 1993 as an All Source Military Intelligence Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division. Jim later served as an Intelligence and Surveillance Platoon Leader before becoming an Intelligence Company Commander in the 2nd Infantry Division - Korea. In 2000, they became a Detachment Commander in the 5th Psychological Operations Battalion, 4th PSYOP Group. Jim then served as the Commander of the Military Information Support Team in the Philippines in 2002. From 2004 to 2006, they were a Company Commander in USASOC. Jim then took on the role of Chief of the Psychological Operations Division in SOCPAC from 2007 to 2010. Jim served as a Joint Military Information Support Operations Planner in the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Project Manager in both ConStrat and COLSA Corporation. Their most recent roles include serving as a Government Civilian in Information Operations and as the Deputy Chief Information Operations at the U.S. Pacific Command, starting in 2014.
Jim Mishina has a diverse education history. Jim began their educational journey at Hawaii Preparatory Academy from 1984 to 1988, where they pursued a degree named "The keys to life" and studied the field of "Becoming great!" Following this, Jim attended Seattle University from 1988 to 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marketing. Continuing their education, Jim enrolled at the Joint Forces Staff College in 2007, completing a certification in Military Operational Art and Science/Studies. That same year, they also attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, although the specific degree and field of study are not provided. Lastly, Jim pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Disasters and Emergency Management at TUI University in 2006. In addition to their formal education, Jim has obtained certifications in Big Data Foundations - Level 1 and Data Science Foundations - Level 1 from IBM in February 2018.
