Russ Bywater

Russ Bywater is an experienced professional in the nuclear industry, currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer and Senior Resident Inspector at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission since June 2018. Previous roles include teaching engineering and physics at the Birdville Independent School District and providing nuclear safety and licensing consulting at RLB Nuclear Consulting, LLC. Bywater has also contributed to NASA's High School Aerospace Scholars Program as a Technical Reviewer and held various significant positions at Mitsubishi Nuclear Energy Systems, Inc. and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where responsibilities ranged from licensing management to engineering oversight. Bywater holds a PhD candidacy in Educational Leadership Policy from Texas Tech University and advanced degrees in Nuclear Engineering and Physics from Iowa State University and Nebraska Wesleyan University.
