Michael Shoffner has over 22 years of work experience in various roles. Michael started their career at Caterpillar Inc. in 1999 as a Fabrication Specialist and later worked as an Assistant Welding Instructor before becoming a Operations Section Manager. In this role, they supervised a team of 30 direct reports and was responsible for equipment maintenance and capacity planning. Michael also served as a Buyer, where they managed procurement of manufacturing equipment and achieved significant cost savings. Additionally, they worked as a Quality Manager, ensuring daily operations and implementing training on built-in quality processes. In 2017, they joined U.S. Silica Company as an Operations Supervisor, where they planned and controlled mining activities to achieve production targets. Michael is currently working as an Environment, Health, and Safety Manager at U.S. Silica Company.

Michael Shoffner attended Illinois Valley Community College from 2008 to 2015, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree with a major in Business. Following this, they enrolled in Purdue University Fort Wayne from 2016 to 2018 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Labor Studies. Additionally, in 2015, Michael received certifications as a Certified Target Selection Interviewer from Caterpillar Inc., as well as CPR/AED training from the American Red Cross. Michael also acquired certifications in Green Belt (CPS) Caterpillar Production System and Green Belt (DMAIC) Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control; however, the specific dates of these certifications are unknown.
