Laura Spector

Country Manager, Power Africa at U.S. Trade and Development Agency

Laura Spector currently serves as the Country Manager for Power Africa at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency since August 2023. Previously, Laura held the position of Power Africa Research Analyst at Ascendant Program Services, LLC, and worked as a Safety Policy Specialist with the American Trucking Associations. Laura's experience includes roles as a Graduate Assistant and Program Coordinator at the University of Maryland, alongside internships focused on legislative affairs and trade policy with various organizations, including the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and the United States Senate. Laura earned a Master of Public Policy with a focus on International Security and Economic Policy from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Maryland, additionally studying at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
