Michelle Ker has a diverse range of work experience in various government organizations and non-profit institutions. Michelle has recently been appointed as the Director for Investment at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from January 2020 to March 2022. Michelle also served as a Policy Analyst in Economics and Trade at the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission from May 2016 to December 2019. Additionally, they held positions such as Researcher at BowerGroupAsia, Associate at the Asian Development Bank, Intern at Human Rights Watch, Research Fellow at the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Research Associate at The Henry L. Stimson Center. Michelle also gained valuable experience as an intern in the Beijing Office of the International Crisis Group.
Michelle Ker completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with Highest Distinction and Honors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2007 to 2011. Michelle'sfield of study was focused on Peace, War, and Defense and Political Science. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Affairs and Development at the Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University from 2014 to 2016.
