Lana Axelrod has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Lana started their career as a Summer Analyst at Credit Suisse in 2004 before moving on to Goldman Sachs as an Analyst in Operational Risk Management. In 2005, they returned to Credit Suisse as an Analyst in Investment Banking, specializing in Media & Telecom Group. At Credit Suisse, they advised corporate clients in the media industry on acquisitions, divestitures, and financings. In 2008, Lana joined The Carlyle Group as an Associate in the U.S. Buyout Healthcare Group, where they evaluated healthcare investment opportunities.
In 2009, Lana worked as a Summer Manager in Corporate Strategy at Scientific Games, a global gaming and lottery services company. Lana was responsible for optimizing the company's capital structure and executing a bond issuance. In 2010, they joined American Express as a Summer Marketing Manager in the Small Business Division, where they developed strategies for customer acquisition and cross-selling.
At American Express, Lana held various positions, including Senior Manager in Business Platinum Card Product Management, where they launched a new product feature attracting premium customers and managed customer attrition during the loss of a key feature. Lana also served as Senior Manager in Starwood Business Card Product Management, responsible for strategy, profitability, and customer acquisition and retention.
Currently, Lana is actively involved with UAV Coach, a company providing drone training and resources. Lana started as a Strategic Advisor in 2015 and later became the Chief Operating Officer in July 2016. In this role, they oversee drone pilot training and preparation for FAA certifications, achieving a high pass rate for students seeking commercial drone operation licenses.
Lana Axelrod's education history began in 1997 when they attended Centennial High School. After completing high school, Lana pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business. Lana attended this institution from 2001 to 2005, graduating magna cum laude. Building upon their undergraduate education, Lana went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management from Harvard Business School, where they studied from 2009 to 2011.
