Emma Durkin has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over multiple industries. Currently, they serve as the Chief People Officer at UBDS, a digital transformation partner. Prior to that, they worked at Altron Karabina as the Head of Human Capital, where they were responsible for people engagement, retention, and happiness. Emma also held the positions of People Management Lead and People Manager within the same company. Before joining Altron Karabina, they worked at The Kelly Group as a Talent Acquisition Business Manager and a Senior Recruitment Consultant. Emma's earlier career includes working at Emirates Airline as a Customer Affairs Officer and First Class Cabin Crew.

Emma Durkin received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Law from the University of the Witwatersrand from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they pursued A Levels in French, English, Geography, and General Studies at St John's College from 1989 to 1990. Emma'ssecondary education was completed at Millais Secondary School in Horsham, West Sussex, UK, where they obtained their GCSEs in various subjects including French, Spanish, Geography, History, Physics, HE, Computer Studies, Maths, and English from 1982 to 1988. In addition, Emma obtained several certifications including Adult Mental Health First Aid Practitioner from Zeal Health Innovations in 2022, Leadership Upskilling Programme from CI Coaching in 2019, Boredom Slayers from Missing Link - Presentation Specialists in 2019, and Korn Ferry Hay Group Grading Training from Korn Ferry in 2019.
