Aleena Zainab Alavi

Aleena Zainab Alavi currently serves as the Head of Legal, Privacy and Cybersecurity for Uber in the Middle East & North Africa since October 2025. Prior to this role, Alavi held various legal positions at Careem from May 2018 to September 2025, including Director Legal and Head of Policy & Legal Affairs. Alavi's earlier experience includes partnership at Lo Bono Law and senior associate roles at Legal Oracles, as well as research fellowship and associate positions that involved extensive research in international law and cybersecurity. Alavi has also contributed to academia as a visiting lecturer and lecturer at institutions such as National Defence University Islamabad and Iqra University. Educational qualifications include a Master of Laws in International Development and Human Rights from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London International Programmes.
