Hongqiang Liu is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in networking and infrastructure development. Currently serving as Head of Networking at Uber since June 2022, Hongqiang Liu leads a team responsible for designing and operating a variety of advanced networks to support Uber's diverse business needs while also spearheading innovation for the gig economy. Prior to Uber, Hongqiang Liu held the position of Director of Network R&D & Edge Network Infrastructure at Alibaba Group from December 2017 to June 2022, where significant achievements included the deployment of a programmable data plane for data center networks and the creation of technologies that enhanced network reliability and performance. Hongqiang Liu also worked at Microsoft as a Senior Researcher II from July 2014 to December 2017, contributing to the reliability of Azure's network with the development of CrystalNet. Hongqiang Liu holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University and multiple degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University.
