Nir Hak is a highly experienced applied scientist and economist with a strong background in pricing and market design. Currently serving as Staff Applied Scientist and Manager II at Uber since May 2020, Nir leads a team responsible for algorithmic pricing for rides that generate $15 billion in annual gross bookings and has significantly enhanced pricing efficiency. Prior to this role, Nir held positions at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management as a Visiting Scholar, and at Harvard University as a Ph.D. candidate and Teaching Fellow, focusing on network theory and empirical industrial organization. Additional experience includes positions at eBay, where contributions to business metric analysis were made, and at Harvard Kennedy School, where advanced microeconomics was taught. Nir also has a background in military intelligence as an analyst and team leader, complemented by extensive academic qualifications in economics from prestigious institutions including Harvard University and Tel Aviv University.
