Okke van der Wal

Okke van der Wal is a Manager in Machine Learning at Uber, leading a team focused on Anomaly Detection, Personalization, and Fraud Detection. With over 10 years of experience in AI/ML, they have previously worked as a Machine Learning Scientist at Uber and as a Data Scientist at Blendle, where they developed advanced recommendation systems and customer retention models. Okke has also served as a Guest Lecturer in data science at the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship. They are currently pursuing dual Master of Science degrees in Applied Machine Learning and Statistics at Tilburg University.
