Virag Shah

Virag Shah is a Senior Applied Scientist at Uber since August 2019, specializing in driver pricing and surge pricing mechanisms. Prior to this role, Shah was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University from October 2017 to July 2019, focusing on machine learning, optimization, marketplace dynamics, experimentation, and revenue management, with several publications in top AI conferences. Experience includes a postdoctoral position at Microsoft Research-INRIA Joint Centre, visiting faculty at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and a Simons Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin. Shah holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, alongside a Master's from the Indian Institute of Science and a Bachelor's from the University of Mumbai.
