Nisha Ligon has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Nisha is currently the Co-Founder of Ubongo, a company focused on creating edutainment for children in Africa. As the Co-Founder and CEO of Ubongo since 2013, Nisha has been instrumental in developing fun learning experiences for kids in their heart languages using existing technology and play-based learning approaches.

Prior to their role at Ubongo, Nisha worked in multimedia production, where they produced videos, podcasts, and interactive stories for organizations such as the BBC World Service, The Guardian, and the London Science Museum. Nisha'sfocus was on educational media and explaining complex scientific topics to a general audience.

Nisha also worked as a Content Maestro at The Virtual School, a free online education program, where they managed the production process and collaborated with teachers and tutors to create engaging learning videos distributed on YouTube and the school's website.

Nisha also has experience as a Producer/Director, having created a documentary film titled "Twiga Stars: Tanzania's Soccer Sisters," which received recognition at various film festivals worldwide.

Nisha's academic background includes being a Student Researcher at the Skelly Lab in the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Nisha'sresearch involved studying the rapid evolution of wood frogs in response to the light environment of wetlands.

Additionally, Nisha served as the Creative Director and Co-President of YTV, the Yale Student Television, where they contributed to the creative direction and leadership of the organization.

Nisha Ligon's education history begins with their high school education at the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies. Nisha then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Yale University, where they studied intensively from 2005 to 2009. In 2007 and 2008, Nisha had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). After completing their undergraduate studies, Nisha pursued a Master of Science degree in Science Media Production at Imperial College London from 2010 to 2011.
