Andy Doran is an experienced horticulturist and curator currently serving as the Director of Collections at the University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley since June 2021. In this role, Andy manages the garden's collections and oversees horticultural and curatorial activities, emphasizing documentation, research, and education. With a diverse background that includes positions such as Curator of Cultivated Plants and Assistant Director for Collections at the University of California, Berkeley, Andy has a strong focus on plant taxonomy and digitization within botanical collections. Additional experience includes roles at institutions such as the Denver Botanic Gardens and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where Andy developed expertise in plant identification, management, and curation. Andy holds a Master of Science in Pure & Applied Plant & Fungal Taxonomy from the University of Reading and a BSc (Hons) in Horticultural Science, Technology & Management from Myerscough College.
