Clarence Chio

Clarence Chio is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and educator with extensive experience in machine learning, security, and risk operations. As the Cofounder and CEO of Coverbase since December 2023, Clarence is focused on innovating vendor management solutions. Concurrently, Clarence serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where contributions to the MICS program were recognized with the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2023. With a strong background as a Cofounder of Unit21, Clarence has been instrumental in creating no-code tools for risk operations, supported by Google. As an author at O'Reilly Media, Clarence penned the book “Machine Learning & Security,” widely available in multiple languages. Previous roles include being a Senior Software Engineer at Shape Security, a Security Consultant at Oracle, and a Community Speaker for Intel Corporation, showcasing a robust technical foundation built through a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
