Daniel Spears

Graduate Student Instructor

Daniel Spears is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in Earth and Planetary Science since 2019. In addition to academic pursuits, Daniel holds a position as a Graduate Student Instructor at the same institution. Previous experiences include a Graduate Student Intern role at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where research focused on indirect and direct drive methodologies for the NIF and OMEGA facilities. Leadership capabilities were demonstrated as a Crew Leader for the Rocky Mountain Conservancy, overseeing a team in historic preservation, and through contributions as a Conservation Corps Crew Member under the U.S. Forestry Service. Daniel has also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and a Learning Assistant at Michigan State University, where foundational studies in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, and Chemistry were completed.
