Darren Cooke is the interim Chief Innovation & Entrepreneurship Officer at UC Berkeley and serves as Executive Director of the Life Sciences Entrepreneurship Center. With extensive experience in patent litigation, they have held roles at Covington & Burling and Bio-Rad Laboratories, where they managed intellectual property issues for a $700 million life science business. Darren is also a Professional Faculty at Berkeley Haas School of Business, teaching various courses and fostering entrepreneurship among students. They have been involved in investment activities with Life Science Angels and have contributed to various innovative programs, including NSF's I-Corps and LAUNCH, aimed at supporting startups and translating research into marketable solutions.
