Dr. Simyka Carlton currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor for the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Certificate Program at the University of California, Berkeley, and as the SEL Coordinator for Metro Nashville Public Schools since July 2015. With extensive experience in educational settings, Dr. Carlton has held various positions such as the SEL Classroom Organization and Management Program Specialist and Freshman Academy Principal within Metro Nashville Public Schools, focusing on integrating SEL into school curricula and enhancing classroom management strategies. Additional roles include online adjunct instructorships at Vanderbilt University, Cumberland University, and Grand Canyon University, where Dr. Carlton facilitates courses and supervises student teachers. Dr. Carlton holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Walden University and has degrees in Education and Health and Physical Education from Cumberland University and Bethel College, respectively.
