Ethan J. Jackson is a PhD student in Computer Science at UC Berkeley since August 2015, under the guidance of Scott Shenker. Jackson has extensive industry experience, having held positions as a Principal Research Scientist at Aviatrix, a Staff Engineer at Google, and a Founder and CEO at Kelda. Prior experience includes significant roles at Nicira by VMware as a Staff Engineer and Senior Software Engineer, where contributions were made to the Open vSwitch project and Nicira's Network Virtualization solution. Earlier in the career, Jackson worked as a Software Engineer focused on Cloud Computing at Yahoo!, contributing to automated Cloud Serving Technology and core software infrastructure. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, completed in 2009.
