Evelyn Thorne

Evelyn Thorne serves as the Director of Academic Affairs for the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley, since December 2021, leading the Master of Design program and managing academic affairs staff. Thorne is also the Founder and Writer at Creativity in Context, promoting a broader understanding of living as a creative process. Previous roles include Training & Consulting Manager at Pathways to Equity, Adjunct Professor at San Jose State University, and various positions in community engagement and outreach at notable organizations such as the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and California College of the Arts. Thorne holds a Master of Science in Arts Administration from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts from San José State University.
