Taner Sen

Taner Sen is a highly experienced Lead Scientist and Research Computational Biologist at the USDA Agricultural Research Service since June 2007, specializing in genome browser and metabolic network applications. Concurrently, Taner holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where contributions focus on structural bioinformatics and data management in Bioengineering education. Taner's academic background includes an extensive tenure as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Iowa State University and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology. Additionally, Taner served as Interagency Advisor to the Associate Director of Data Science at the National Institutes of Health in 2015, focusing on data sustainability initiatives. Taner holds a PhD in Polymer Engineering from The University of Akron and both an MS and BS in Chemical Engineering from Boğaziçi University.
