Nitzan Shabek is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis, since July 2018, where a research group focuses on biological mechanisms controlling signaling pathways through interdisciplinary approaches, including structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. Nitzan Shabek also serves as a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Oerth Bio, an early-stage biotechnology company specializing in innovative crop protection solutions. Previous positions include Research Specialist and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of Washington, respectively, where Nitzan Shabek conducted structural-function characterizations of ubiquitin ligase protein complexes and plant hormone perception. Educational achievements include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and various roles as a teaching assistant and lecturer at Ben-Gurion University.
