Julio Baez

Julio Baez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in biotechnology and bioprocessing, serving as an Industrial Advisor and Consultant at the University of California San Diego since 1999, along with a role as a lecturer in biotechnology. Previous positions include Biological Technology Leader at Cipla BioTec, Staff Scientist and Program Manager at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and VP of Technology at Ingenza Biologics/BioFabrica. Baez has a strong track record in leading teams to develop innovative bioprocesses for biopharmaceuticals, biofuels, and proteins across multiple organizations, including FibroGen and Monsanto, where significant advancements in recombinant proteins were achieved. Baez holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, complemented by a lecturer position in biotechnology at Washington University in St. Louis.
