Theodore Alexandrov is a prominent scientific professional specializing in metabolomics. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at UC San Diego since August 2024, Alexandrov leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing spatial and single-cell metabolomics technologies for addressing significant biological and medical challenges. Previously, as a BioStudio Principal Investigator at the BioInnovation Institute and a Faculty member at the Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit at Heidelberg University, Alexandrov contributed to innovative research. From October 2014 to July 2024, Alexandrov held the position of Team Leader and Head of the Metabolomics Core Facility at EMBL. Additional roles include Assistant Adjunct Professor and Visiting Researcher at the University of California, San Diego, from 2010 to July 2021, and Scientific Director and co-founder at SCiLS GmbH from 2012 to January 2017. Prior to these positions, Alexandrov led the Life Science Group and MALDI Imaging Lab at the University of Bremen from 2010 to October 2014.
