Justin Barton, CFA has a diverse work experience. Justin began their career as a Lecturer for the Princeton in Africa Fellow - Quantitative Literacy Project in 2003. After that, they worked as a Litigation Legal Assistant at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates in 2004. In 2005, they joined Brown University as an Investment Analyst before moving to Old Square Capital as a Senior Investment Analyst in 2006. From 2011 to 2015, Justin worked at Investec Asset Management as an Investment Analyst, specializing in Emerging & Frontier Markets. Justin then joined UCLA Investment Company in 2016 as an Investment Director and later became the Chief Investment Officer in June 2018.
Justin Barton, CFA, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University, which they obtained between 1998 and 2002. Justin further pursued their education by completing a Masters in International Relations and Affairs at the University of Cape Town from 2003 to 2004. Justin also attended St Johnsbury Academy for high school, earning their degree from 1994 to 1998. In terms of certifications, they have obtained the Accounting Bootcamp certification from the New York Institute of Finance in 2008, as well as the Columbia Business School Executive Education - Value Investing Seminar in the same year. Justin is also a CFA charterholder and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) from the CFA Society of the UK.
