Alan Chiem

Alan Chiem is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in emergency medicine and ultrasound education. Currently serving as the Director of Ultrasound Education at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA since August 2021, Alan has played significant roles at UCLA Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship as Associate Program Director - Education and Program Director since July 2013. Additionally, Alan has been an Emergency Physician and Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Olive View - UCLA Medical Center since July 2012 and holds the position of Associate Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Alan's training includes a Clinical Fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at UC Irvine School of Medicine and residency in Emergency Medicine at Emory Healthcare. Alan also contributed to global health initiatives as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer focusing on health in Essau Village, and holds degrees from prestigious institutions including a Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Davis, a Master of Public Health from Tulane University, and a Bachelor of Science from UC Irvine.
